Back to Start

Alfonso, David, Frank, and Brad (“The Virginia Trekkers”) take you on a tour of their home county, Henrico, in this series of videos.  Henrico county is one of the oldest counties in America.  It was founded in 1634, just a short while after Jamestown, and it got its name from King James’ oldest son, Prince Henry.  Surrounding northern Richmond and partly bounded by the James River, Henrico County has played an important role throughout Virginia’s history. John Rolfe and his famous Indian bride, Pocahontas, made their home near Varina, in eastern Henrico.  Many Civil War battles were fought on the farms and fields of Henrico County.  We’ll show you some of the most important sites and you can follow along using the Google map below.  Come on, let’s go trekking!
