Welcome to our USA Trekkers website.  We travel across the country making educational videos for elementary students. We hope to film all 50 states and their capitals. We’re almost there! Use the animation above to explore our site or the navigation menu at the top of this page. (Animation created with Wick).

Thanks to a grant from the Henrico Education Foundation, the Virginia Trekkers were able to go on a cross country trip from Virginia to California in June 2012!  We travelled almost 3,000 miles from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. This video gives a few highlights, but you can see lots more in our states videos linked above. This trip inspired a goal of filming in all 50 states. (Trouble viewing the YouTube video? Try Vimeo or direct link). We have two additional websites: Henrico Trekkers (our home county) and Virginia Trekkers, so be sure to check those out. Come on, let’s go trekkin’!

This is a 3D model of the United States of America. Its features have been exaggerated a bit to make them more obvious. Click and drag to move it around. Scroll to zoom in and explore the geography. How would you compare the Rocky Mountains with the Appalachian Mountains? Do you see the rivers flowing out of the Rocky Mountains? What do you notice about the Great Plains? (This 3-D map was created with 3-D Mapper).

Here is a Google map showing the five regions of Virginia! Click on a region to find out more information. Zoom in with the + on the bottom left. Click the icon in the upper left to turn on/off the different regions.

This is an old Flash activity about the regions of Virginia. We got it to work using Ruffle!
